About Doodleden^™

Doodleden^™ is a growing collection of free, focused tools for small technical jobs that come up all the time: resizing an image to an exact size, getting a photo under an upload limit, or converting a file to a format a program will accept.

Why it exists

Jobs like these are usually quick once you have the right tool, but finding that tool can take longer than the job itself. Too often the answer is to install another application, which on a work or school computer can mean asking for permission first. Otherwise it means sorting through download sites of uncertain quality, or starting a free trial or paying for a subscription you will use once.

Doodleden^™ aims to be the simpler path: open the page, do the job, check the result and download it.

How the tools work

• In your browser. Where browser technology makes it practical, the work happens on your own device. The image tools read, resize, compress and convert your files inside your browser; your files are not uploaded to or stored by Doodleden^™.
• No account and nothing to install. Each tool is a web page that works in a current version of Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari, on a computer or a phone.
• Clear about limits. Each tool page explains what it can and cannot do, including file formats some browsers cannot open or create, so you know what to expect before you rely on a result.

Like most websites, doodleden.us is hosted by a web host and shows advertising, and those services have their own data practices. The privacy policy explains what they involve.

• Image Resizer & Converter: resize by pixels or percentage, crop and rotate, and save in a range of formats, with an optional file-size target.
• Image Compressor: make an image file smaller, choosing the quality, colours or format yourself.
• Reduce Image to KB or MB: fit an image under an upload limit such as 100 KB.
• Favicon Generator: make every icon and the HTML a website needs from one logo.
• Icon Converter: turn an image into an .ico icon file with the sizes you need.
• Icon Editor: see, save and change the sizes inside an existing .ico file.
• Bulk Image Resizer: resize, convert or compress many images at once and download them as a ZIP.
• Image Converter: change an image's file format, including icon (.ico) files.
• Images to GIF: make an animated GIF from photos or pictures, with the order, timing and looping you choose.
• Color Picker: pick a colour from an image and copy it as HEX, RGB, HSL or HSV.
• QR Code Generator: make a QR code for a link or text that never expires, as PNG or SVG.
• QR Code Reader: read the text or link in a QR code from a screenshot or saved image, without a phone.
• VA Disability Calculator: estimate a VA combined disability rating, including the bilateral factor, with every step shown. It is an estimate, not a VA decision.
• GPA Calculator: work out a weighted or unweighted GPA, set up for your own school's scale and weights.
• Compound Interest Calculator: see how savings grow with compounding and regular deposits, year by year.
• Exponential Growth & Decay Calculator: doubling time, half-life and time to a target, with a short lesson on e.
• Population Growth & Carrying Capacity Calculator: model logistic growth toward a carrying capacity, estimate K from resources, and learn the calculus behind it.

More tools will be added over time, each built around a specific task.

How Doodleden^™ is paid for

The tools are free to use. Advertising helps pay for the time and cost of building, hosting and maintaining them. Ads are kept separate from the tool controls.
